Formerly part of Nortel Networks,
the Lentronics line of advanced optical networking solutions was acquired
by GE Multilin on July 26th, 2001. (Press
release)
Lentronics Multiplexers are designed to both SONET (Synchronous Optical
Network) and SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) standards. They are now
marketed as GE Multilin Lentronics Multiplexers and include the JungleMUX
SONET Multiplexer, as well as the TN1U and TN1Ue SDH Multiplexers.
Engineered in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, Lentronics Multiplexers
were originally designed to meet the unique requirements of electric power
utilities. Due to their robust design, product applications were expanded
and Lentronics Multiplexers are now also deployed worldwide in roadway,
airport, rail, oil, gas, water, security and industrial applications.
