Thought-provoking Interviews with GE Experts: Alan Ross Sits Down with Claudia Cosoreanu, Claudia Blanco, and John McDonald at DTECH 2023
DISTRIBUTECH 2023, the leading annual transmission and distribution event, saw more than 12,000 industry professionals and over 500 exhibitors congregate in San Diego last month. A hub for educational seminars and networking opportunities with thought leaders from around the world, the conference serves as connection point of collaboration. This year, topics included grid modernization solutions, intelligent digital substations, microgrids and renewable integration, and decarbonization objectives - all with a critical underlying focus on the grid of the future.
Events such as DTECH pave the way for thought-provoking dialogue, brainstorming, and questions. This year, Alan Ross, Managing Editor at APC Media, sat down with Claudia Cosoreanu, Chief Technology Officer at GE Grid Automation and Claudia Blanco, Innovation and Customer Partnerships Officer with GE Renewable Energy to talk about the changes and challenges that our industry is facing and what’s needed to address these challenges. Claudia and Claudia recap the magnitude of the problems we face, including the urgency around sustainability targets and electrification, and share valuable insights in respect of the grid of the future happening now.
Alan Ross also sat down with John McDonald, Smart Grid Business Development Leader at GE Grid Solutions, to discuss where the power industry is heading, the function of smart grids, and the integration and collaboration that are needed to affect positive change. Further to his role at GE, John sits as the IEEE Foundation Chair and shares the objectives of the IEEE Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, highlighting the philanthropic efforts of the organization.
