GE’s Reason S20 Series of managed Ethernet switches has been enhanced to operate as a NTP server in firmware version 07A04, meaning NTP client devices connected to S20 can now use the Ethernet switch as a source of time instead of using the GPS clock. The switch source of time can be IEEE 1588v2, NTP or manually entered. This means S20 can now convert PTP messages to NTP whenever required.

In addition to this new functionality, the new firmware delivers improvements for IEEE 1588 and a few user configurations.
