GE offers a customized service program that ensures the availability of spare parts for critical components in a Gas-Insulated Substation (GIS) or Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) and an on-site GE Field Service Expert to help customers reduce outage duration and costs if an unexpected failure occurs.

GE’s Spare Parts Pooling Program is a member-based service in which customers have access to critical parts or models and access to a GE Field Engineer, who can be on-site within 24 hours. The pool of critical components is shared within a network of several substation operators through a flexible service agreement.

The Spare Parts Pooling Program includes a condition assessment of installed GIS or GCBs to identify the right set of spare parts which will be held and maintain by GE. Members also have preferred pricing for components from the pool.

As first step, a Spare Parts Pooling Program has been established for GE’s GIS B212/B95 units up to 170 kV.
