Grid Solution creates strategic relationships with authorized channel partners to serve our customers. Our channels include distributors, resellers, value added resellers and sales representatives.

GE’s program is based on rewards and recognition, and empowers channels with tools educate and train, increase collaboration and simplify processes. Our channels are expected to promote GE’s value, and learn and adapt with GE through increased collaboration.

Leading edge technologies are designed for system integration and make it easier for the channel to complete a project successfully. GE has established itself as a world leader in the supply of protective relays, components and automation systems for industrial and utility applications.

How does GE define channel types?
A Distributor is:
  • A business entity
  • Licensed to state that it is an authorized distributor of GE products or services
  • Holds itself out in the market as having a formal relationship with GE
  • Who takes title to GE product
  • Receives no direct compensation from GE, but derives income from discount
  • Has discretion with respect to prices, T&Cs for resale of purchased product and/or Holds Stock
A Value Added Reseller is:
  • A business entity licensed to state that it is a value added reseller of GE products or services
  • GE may be involved directly in the final sale to customer, whether through technical selling, installation or service
  • Can also have buy-sell element
  • Adds some features to the product or enhanced package
  • Receives no direct compensation from GE
  • Derives income from adding features to GE products or services and reselling to customer as an integrated product or enhanced package
  • Generally has discretion as to prices, T&Cs for resale of the purchased products
A Sales Representative is:
  • An individual or business entity
  • Holds itself out as representative of GE
  • Reimbursed on a commission basis; usually contingent and is determined as a percentage of the sales price of the products/services sold as a result of sales representative’s efforts Provides assistance in the expectation of making a profit in any transaction involving the sale of goods or services
  • Promote sale of specific products and services to assigned customers or within a specific territory Normally, GE has direct contract with end-user customer
A Reseller is:
  • A business entity
  • Licensed to state that it is an authorized distributor of GE products or services
  • Holds itself out in the market as having a formal relationship with GE
  • Who takes title to GE product
  • Receives no direct compensation from GE, but derives income from discount
  • Has discretion with respect to prices, T&Cs for resale of purchased product
  • Authorized Reseller – same as Distributor but does not hold stock
