General Comments:

This release should provide all functionality of version 1.7.3 plus the fixes/features indicated below.     

Significant new features in current build:

. Radio Performance
Added 14ms hoptime capability.

· Networking
The entraNET REM acts as a straight pass-thru, there is no IP-layer bridging functionality. Added a feature to both the AP and REM side firmware packages that prevents broadcast packets (i.e. ARP) sourced from the REM side ethernet from being sent back out the REM after they are re-broadcast over the air by the AP.

Significant bugs fixed in current build:

Defect: The Ethernet driver at the REM crashes when traffic comes in at a rate which is much higher than the system over-the-air rate.

Action: Added error handling code to the Ethernet driver so that it will properly handle the overflow condition.


Defect: The REM gets into a locked up state where it can sync but no longer assoc. Once in this mode it cannot pass data. The only fix is to cycle power.

Action: Condition was being caused by corrupted sync messages. Added a fix to prevent the REM's processor from receiving corrupted sync messages, plus added robustness to the sync message handler.
