The Alstom Grid RPH3 can replace the cumbersome pre-insertion resistors of the circuit-breakers for the current applications of transmission lines energisation or reclosing, shunt capacitor on shunt reactor switching, power transformer energisation.
In addition, RPH3 includes innovative specific features to further reduce the switching stresses of transmission circuits connected to shunt compensation devices.

The RPH3 is strongly recommended for:

  • Switching on HV on EHV transmission lines with short compensation ( three-phase or single-phase auto-reclosure), discriminating the cases of application of shunt compensation
  • Energisation of large power transformers (inrush current, remanent flux)
