SPOL Knee Type Disconnectors up to 1200 kV


The Alstom Grid SPOL is a vertical break disconnector with a two-piece arm. In the open position the blade sections fold upon themselves in a vertical plane of only 60% of the longitudinal dimension.

Main Characteristics 

  • Rated voltage from 245 to 1200kV
  • Equipped with unique pollution and ice-free “L” contact and bus transfer contacts
  • Reliable in adverse operating conditions
  • Much lower centre of gravity of the live part means better performance during earthquakes
  • Specific spark-free solution with an SF6 breaking chamber available for EHV applications
  • Supplied or easily retro-fitted with 1 or 2 earthing switches which can also be fitted with induced current switching devices
